2PM Minus Jay: What Would It Had Been Like If He Stayed?

2PM just passed the 5 year anniversary mark since their debut. The 6-membered boyband is currently JYP Entertainment's cash cow and their biggest most successful boy group since the days of G.O.D. The group has exceeded expectations and have gained huge success in both Korea and the rest of the Asian countries including Thailand and Japan where the members have pierced the hearts of women everywhere. Though their initial single, "10 out of 10" was a doozy, the group's comeback single, "Again & Again," skyrocketed their fame to new heights. It's what converted me into a HOTTEST and it's what made room for the group in the fierce world of K-pop where you have one chance to make it or one chance to fall into the black hole of failure.

The group has garnered millions and millions of fans since their initial debut but before the group was 6, they were 7. I remember personally when the whole Jaebeom controversy hit and thinking to myself that this would ruin 2PM forever. Little did I know that it had little to no effect and the 6 boys went on to do well without their talented leader leading them through the jungle of pop music. But I always wonder what the group could have or would have achieved if Jay had stayed in the group. Would they have advanced farther in their career and gained even more stardom in other countries? Could they have been currently the biggest boyband in Korea? Could they have been bigger than all their competition combined? Would they have gone on to become thee boygroup to beat in Korea? These questions can and never will be answered but the question still remains a mystery-what if Jay stayed in 2PM?

Before Nichkhun took the title of most popular member, the group's ex-leader Jaebeom was hands down the most popular singer of the group. It was not only his adorable yet handsome face that took HOTTEST by charm, but it was the boy's talent. While his fellow comrades were indeed talented, there was no one in the group who was a triple threat and Jay was a quadruple threat. The man could sing, rap, dance, and lead. There are only a few people in K-pop who have the ability to do all three, let alone all four. He was the glue that held them together and with Jay I knew it was possible for them to conquer all of Asia in a short period of time. After "Again & Again" they were unstoppable, but then Jay's Myspace controversy hit, and all hope was lost. I thought it would be a tough journey for 2PM to pick themselves up again with the major loss, but JY Park took no chances and immediately got the boys back on the groove. Because of his fast thinking skills, 2PM has gone as far as they have and definitely have a bright future ahead of them. But do I believe the group could have been bigger with Jay in the group? Yes-but why dwell in the past and things that could've, should've, would've happened.

The group has done pretty well for themselves without their fearless leader and Jay Park has done an immaculate job in creating a successful solo career on his own. While I'm sure some HOTTEST, especially me, hope for a 2PM 7-member comeback one day, we all know that'll happen when pigs fly. 2PM will forever always be ingrained in my heart as the 7 membered-group that stole my heart and K-pop fanatic ways.
