YG Entertainment's Online Hater Arrested: 'I Was Addicted To Doing It' Troll Says About Leaving Nasty Comments

YG Entertainment executives are mad as hell about negative online comments, and they're not going to take it anymore.

According to a statement released by the record label on Friday, Seoul police from the Mapo district have arrested the perpetrator of a long series of incendiary online comments against YG Entertainment artists.

In addition to suing the perpetrator, known as a "troll" for the practice of trolling websites in search of places to post hateful comments, executives from the label declared a "war on trolls leaving malicious comments."

"[YG Entertainment's legal department] sued a troll who has been leaving malicious comments on [the label's] artists for years," the YG statement read.

"This is quite different to how the entertainment agency has responded until now. YG did not bother with them since they thought teenagers wrote the comments. This shows that YG will legally respond to malevolent comments from now on."

After the suspected troll left "spiteful comments every time a piece of news on the artists and the agency was uploaded in July," the label reportedly asked Mapo police to monitor his IP address.

The law enforcement officers tracked the accused troll's alleged libelous comments for two months before making an arrest.

"I started leaving these comments a few years ago, just to inflict my anger rooted from my personal matters on YG," the suspect reportedly stated in a written confession.

"I was addicted to doing it. I apologize and promise this will never happen again."

YG record label execs warned any other potential trolls out there to think again before they launch an online assault on an artist in their roster.

"YG was fairly tolerant of malicious comments until now as they knew most of them were written by teenagers," the label's statement read.

"But starting with this case, YG has strengthened their stance and declared that they will respond legally to any similar matters."

YG's artist roster includes Psy, Big Bang and 2NE1.
