K-pop Stage Style Battle: The Music Bank Post-Comeback Week

Style Battle: The Music Bank Post-Comeback Week

Last week fans were bombarded with comeback stages here and there, with powerful contenders all vying for the top spot in the charts.

Solo songstress IU is killing it in the charts this week and the last, having been declared in the show as the chart topper for Music Bank's week three rankings for October. It's no question; IU is poised to keep her "all-kill" title despite the heavy competition.

But for the sake of the runners up, let's put them under the spotlight for something they might have the upper hand with.

Creating concepts-clothing, dance, staging, the whole nine-for groups is on a different difficulty level as opposed to styling individuals. Stylists have to keep it neat, cohesive, and put-together. Otherwise each member would look like they are promoting their own individual comebacks. So let's give props to the idol groups where it is due.

In last week's session of Music Core, girl-group AOA treated us to a sexy performance, complete with all-black, body-hugging suits. It was really nice to see girl groups like AOA, who started looking all girly, amp it up by transforming into sexy goddesses in black spandex.

But what's up with their costumes this week?

Each of the girls was wearing the same design of body-tight clothing, but the pattern was a bit funky and maybe a bit suggestive.

As expected, T-ara went for another set of casual chic ensemble for their performance of "Number 9". Some members showed off their toned bods by wearing midriff tops.

It was the kind of sexy that was clean and super classy-very consistent with the recent styles T-ara has been subscribing to.

Last week SHINee looked very corporate in costumes that made them look like a modern version of early 20th century generals. The contemporary group has always been known for eccentric and elaborate costumes, and as usual their bring new stuff to the table for their promotions for "Everybody"

Although I'm not such a big fan of their choreography for "Everybody", their new avant-garde look is really a winner. But I must say last week's all-grey number was relatively better than this grey-red mix.

Which ones were your style favorites from this week's music shows?
