Male Fans Rush the Stage While Idols Perform… From Taeyeon to Crayon Pop’s Choa

Could female idol stars be in danger?

In April of 2011, Girls' Generation Taeyeon was performing for the 'Angel Price Music Festival' at the Lotte World Ice Rink in Songpagu, Seoul.

She was performing onstage, when suddenly a male audience member went up and dragged her off the stage. Immediately the male fan was halted by someone working at the event. Taeyeon went back on stage to join her fellow members and finished the performance. The fans were moved by her fervor and dedication. At the time, one rep said, "The matter was handled very well. She must have been very surprised and shaken up, but she acted very calmly. She is currently resting."

On November 14th, Crayon Pop was performing at an event in Cheonan, Choongnam, when a male fan dashed towards the stage and hugged one of the members.

This male fan was wearing a white hoodie, and had direct touch with Choa as he hugged her. He also had a wily smile on his face, which surprised everyone that was watching. Audience members took videos of this incident and uploaded them onto various online community forums. Crayon Pop's agency stated, "The fan wasn't seen at the scene. The manger quickly sent him off the stage and outside. Choa was startled at first, but was able to calmly handle the situation."

Another rep stated, "It's not that we don't understand the fans' love towards idols, but it's a nuisance when they decided to go onstage. The best fan is one that watches and cheers for the singer. Stars like these kinds of fans as well."
