Amanda Righetti is leaving "The Mentalist." And she's taking her onscreen husband with her.

Amanda Righetti confirmed that she is moving on from "The Mentalist." Amanda's last appearance on the "The Mentalist" will be in early December. Righetti isn't the only actor moving on from the hit CBS show. Owain Yeoman also announced that he is leaving "The Mentalist."

The exit of Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman spells major changes to "The Mentalist." Both characters have major roles. It will definitely mean expanding the parts of Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker and Teresa Lisbon, portrayed by Robin Tunney.

On "The Mentalist," Amanda Righetti plays Grace Van Pelt. She got married to Agent Wayne Rigsby, played by Owain Yeoman, during the sixth season of the show.

Amanda Righetti told TV Line "I feel like the time is probably right. It's the end of one thing but the beginning of something new."

Amanda also explained "The Mentalist"'s post-Red John era that starts on December 1. Righetti sasy the show will then jump two years ahead of the Red John saga, "Basically, they have their own private security company. So we sort of are outsourced and freelanced with the FBI, and that's how we fit in."

Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman will only appear episodes in December.

Amanda Righetti told TVLine she isn't sure how "The Mentalist" will play out. She says "It keeps changing. It's been a little bit of a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants season. I think it was sort of an unexpected turn for the writers too, to have the show kind of be reworked this season. So everybody's kind of trying to figure it out. And [they're] probably keeping it close to the vest so it comes as a surprise to everyone that is watching."

The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m.on CBS.
