The 7-8 Lakers vs 4-10 Nets could have been both teams coming in with wins from last night, but L.A. couldn't finish in the fourth quarter vs the Washington Wizards and thus dropped its first loss on this three-game East Coast trip. Andray Blatche led the way with 24 points, but that almost went unnoticed because with five minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Nets were up 15 points. All of a sudden, a 15-point lead became one point and then back to two with the final shot in the hands of the Raptors. It was a kick-out to a wide open three-pointer that fell short at the buzzer, allowing Brooklyn to end a five-game losing streak.

"Those guys in that locker room finally said they'd had enough," rookie head coach Jason Kidd told ESPN. "There's a bunch of guys in there with pride and they understood what they had to do tonight."

The Lakers will be without Kobe Bryant who notified reporters that he won't be ready for another few weeks. L.A. has surprisingly scored a bunch without him this season, averaging 100.4 PPG, but allow 102.9 PPG.

"We don't think about it much at all. We have a job to do now, the guys who are in the lineup. Everybody's focused on their responsibility and I think we've done pretty good so far," guard Jordan Farmar said after Tuesday's 116-111 loss at Washington.

Bryant and Chris Kayman will not play for L.A. as Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Jason Terry are all game-time decisions.
