Green Day Tour In Australia Will Be Their Final Stop After Announcing Hiatus As They Need To ‘Do Some Other Things’

Green Day has announced that after their tour in Australia the band will take a break for a while as they have some business to take on for now.

In an interview for Britain’s BBC radio 2, Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said, "We're going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we're going to take a break. We haven't really been doing much. So it's just nice to kind of do some other things, you know, when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged."

Green Day will end their tour and be on hiatus as they headline for Australia’s Soundwave 2014 where they said it would be the last show for a while.

On the other hand, Armstrong has been rumored to continue his career on acting as he is seen to be the boyfriend of Leighton Meester in the indie film, Like Sunday.

The vocalist is also spotted to be working with Norah Jones for an Everly Brothers tribute record named Foreverly.

"I thought it would be cool to remake the record because I thought it was sort of an obscure thing and more people should know about it, but I really wanted to do it with a woman singing because I thought it would take on a different meaning — maybe broaden the meaning a little bit — as compared to hearing the songs being sung by the two brothers," he said in an interview that he then got in touch with Jones. “But it was kinda like a blind date,” he added.

In an interview with the two artists, they were asked if the songs they did in the album would be played live, Jones said it would be "fun" but added: "I don't know if there's gonna be time. We've got a lot going on." Green Day singer agreed: "I don't know. We kinda just take things slow."
