The last two movies to finish the Academy Award puzzle have made their debut screenings. The speculation that "American Hustle" and "Wolf of Wall Street" might move to next year has ended.

It will be a tight Academy Award race this year and some movies have seen it fit to move their release dates next year. One example is "Foxcatcher," from director Bennett Miller starring Steve Carrell and Channing Tatum. Whether this is for creative reasons or to enter a less competitive field is something that is up for speculation.

David O. Russel's "American Hustle" is all in for this year as they have already staged their screening at the Cary Grant Theater. According to Deadline, the audience was made up of Screen Actors Guild members and some Academy members. There were also select members of the press.

Most of the feedback from the viewers were "all over the place" according to The Wrap. There were no reviews yet, only personal feedback from the select viewers. The generally shared view, though, was that Jennifer Lawrence was a scene stealer. The All Star Cast includes Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Lawrence.

Another late entry was "Wolf Of Wall Street" by Oscar staple Martin Scorsese. It was debuted at the WGA Theatre in Beverly Hills. According to Deadline, the reception was "rapturous" and Leonardo diCaprio's performance was met with a standing ovation.

Co-star Jonah Hill was also met with thunderous applause as well as the ensemble cast of Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau and Cristin Millioti (the mother in How I Met Your Mother).

Martin Scorsese is at his best element: dark, edgy satire a la Goodfellas. The saga of a Wall Street hotshot complete with all the debauchery of high society clocks in at three hours. It barely avoid an NC-17 rating by cutting some scenes, but the movie was already racy as it is.
