Pacquiao Vs Mayweather Fight - 'Money' Set To Announce Opponent In May 3 Bout; On The Suggestion Of Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Answers 'Who?'

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is at the top of his game. He is undefeated after 45 fights. Apparently, the reason for an unblemished record is not all about ducking punches in the ring.

It's also about ducking people who can punch.

Floyd Jr. or 'Money' as he would like to be addressed, has declared his next fight to be scheduled on May 3, 2014, coinciding with the Cinco De Mayo celebration. However, who he will fight is still a mystery.

While watching a Detroit Pistons home game, he chatted with David Mayo of MLive.

It was the night before Thanksgiving, and Mayo asked about his presence in an NBA game: "I love the NBA, just enjoying myself, having fun, that's it. Nate Jones is here, my team is here. We're having a great time."

He refused to talk about his boxing career, and the burning question about his opponent on his next fight.

Still, the question of Manny Pacquiao was raised, and MLive quoted his response:

"Who?"

With that response, it seems clear that Mayweather will simply give fight fans the runaround. He will continue to fight other boxers like Amir Khan from England even though there was a very weak response to the match.

Mayweather believes that he can generate the 1 million pay-per-view subscriptions on his own, no matter the opponent.  While he has done that in his last 5 fights, and he set a record of 2.2 million subscriptions for his recent bout with Saul Alvarez, there is no denying that a fight with Pacquiao will obliterate those numbers.

If Money really lives up to his nickname, then he should take the best possible opportunity. However, Mayweather defenders including Mayo will always maintain that they refuse to negotiate with Bob Arum or Top Rank.

Money's official carrier, Showtime, has already expressed its intent to negotiate for a Pacquiao fight. They are willing to reach out to Bob Arum, Top Rank, and even make a deal with HBO.

All these efforts will be useless though, since Mayweather doesn't even know who Pacquiao is.

Google him, Floyd. You'll get the biggest payday of your career when you do.
