Duck Dynasty Tops Yahoo’s ‘Obsession’ Ranking While Baby Names Were Inspired By The Actors Of America’s Most Loved ‘Beard’ Family For 2013
Duck Dynasty is most certainly on top of the world - or on top of America that is - as the search engine Yahoo named it as Americas' top obsession for 2013.
Indeed the Robertson family has made the Americans crazy over them.
The A&E reality show beats "Breaking Bad," "The Walking Dead/Zombie Apocalypse," "Twerking" and "Snapchat" in the class that deals with the volume of searches adding the time that the term increased its popularity.
On the other hand, women empowerment is becoming obvious as females dominated Yahoo's most-popular person of the year. Miley Cyrus tops the list that included fellow celebrities Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Selena Gomez and Amanda Bynes while Justin Bieber was the only male on the list that ranked number 10.
In addition, the most searched news stories include the Jodi Arias trial, a controversial case that involves a women who allegedly cheated on his husband and murdered him, following the news about Obamacare and the Boston Marathon bombing.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail reported that "Duck Dynast" was the inspiration to some of the biggest baby names for this year. The list is not based on the official Social Security Administration; however, it is based on the 550,000 newborn babies who were registered on BabyCenter's website.
Willie Robertson's wife and business partner, Korie, was the show's key character who increased the highest on the baby name list with 89 percent, while the name Mia, Missy Robertson's daughter, jumped by 44 percent, according to the report.
The names Phil, Sadie and Silas were up by 32, 23 and 15 percent, respectively, while variations of Phil Robertson's wife Kay was included in the girl's top 100 name list with Kaylee landing at number 19 and Kayla at number 87.
The Americans have come to love the Robertson family because of their wholesome family entertainment and Christian values. The "Duck Dynasty" is a Louisiana-based reality TV show that highlights the lives of the "bearded" family, whose fame and wealth is due to their family-operated business, Duck Commander.
