NBA Season Predictions, Standings 2013-2014: The Chicago Bulls though stands 7th place with an 8-9 record in a rather weak Eastern Conference lineup, still looks for a championship run as they await and hope for a quick recovery from their missing link Derrick Rose after suffering from another knee injury that put him out for the entire season for the second time.
After losing almost all games except for one after losing Rose in their game against the Blazers last month, a tough matchup against the Heat last Thursday night made everything seem to be a fall down for them but instead they won the game in a blowout fashion burying Miami 20 points down with a 107-87 final score.
"Our team needed it," Bulls center Joakim Noah said. "We went through a lot the past couple of weeks. It's really hard to play without Derrick. I want to win with Derrick Rose."
"We really got snake-bitten," back up big man Taj Gibson added. "When that happened to Derrick, that was really like, 'Wow.' We're a family in here. When that stuff kind of happens, it was just ... tough. We were on the road, odds were against us."
With this kind of confidence, the Bulls can look for a strong playoff stint and hopefully get a shot at a finals spot if Derrick Rose comes back on time.
Rose said in an interview:
"If I'm healthy and the situation is right, I'm going to be back playing. If I'm healthy and my meniscus is fully healed, of course I'll be out there playing, but if it's something totally different and the outcome is not how I would want it to be, it's no need."
"I'm able to put pressure on my leg now," he added. "With the ACL, I wasn't able to put any pressure on it. ... With this injury, I'm able to get back on the court a lot quicker."
The Bulls has what it takes to get the title. With a messy looking Eastern Conference lineup and standings for this 2013-2014 season, any team can go in the finals including the Bulls who is only one missing link - Derrick Rose - and if comes back on time and 100 percent ready to play, teams like the Pacers and Heat may have a difficult obstacle to go through to get to the top.
