One Direction Tour 2014: ‘Where We Are’ Ticket Prices Are Cheaper Than ‘Take Me Home’ 2013 Concerts? Prices May Drop Further

One Direction 2014 tour tickets are on sale today, and it looks like ticket prices for next year's "Where We Are" are cheaper than this year's "Take Me Home" tour. Why are ticket prices for the 2014 One Direction tour lower compared to 2013, and will they drop further?

Forbes reports that of the ticket prices for over forty shows on last summer's "Take Me Home" tour, 18 had an average price of over $500, six had an average price over $700 and two had an average price above $1,000.

Tickets for One Direction's 2014 tour, called "Where We Are," have an average ticket price that is significantly lower, perhaps suggesting that One Direction Mania may be fading.

The average price on the secondary market for "Where We Are" is 34% below the price for the "Take Me Home" tour, Forbes reports.

It's also important to note that One Direction are only playing about half the dates compared to their previous tour, but most of the venues are larger stadiums, like Metlife Stadium in New York and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

However, with half as many shows and twice the capacity, One Direction will be selling roughly the same number of tickets for this tour.

Forbes speculates that the average ticket price for the "Where We Are" tour will drop further; prices on the secondary market will lower as additional sales go online.

But don't fret yet, Directioners - despite the drop, the band's tickets are still more expensive than for the winter tours for Jay-Z and Miley Cyrus concerts. One Direction is doing just fine - and some fans may be ecstatic that tickets are a bit more affordable now.

Forbes also pointed out that another possible reason for the potential price drop is that the first "Where We Are" concert won't happen for another eight months.
