"1 Night 2 Days" Leads All Sunday Entertainment Shows In Ratings

The ratings war between the Sunday entertainment programs has a new victor.

SBS "1 Night 2 Days Season 3", which debuted on December 1st, has taken the top spot for two weeks in a row. The former top spot holder, MBC "Real Man", tumbled down to the third spot. The second spot behind "2 Days 1 Night" was taken by SBS "Running Man".

According to Nielsen Korea's December 9th weekend ratings report, "1 Night 2 Days" posted a 15.8 rating. It increased 1.5% from last week's rating, which was 14.3%. It is showing an upward momentum.

"Running Man" had a 13.2% rating, while "Real Man" dropped to a 12.6% rating.

The shows that precede these prime time shows show a different pattern. MBC "Where Are We Going, Dad?" lead with 13.8% while SBS "K-Pop Star" and KBS "Superman Returns" took the second and third spots with 10.7% rating and 7.5% rating respectively.

"1 Night 2 Days" looks like it will stay the dominant Sunday entertainment show for the primetime slot. A nice mixture of the original and new members and a revamped concept lead to a fresh programming that appealed to the fans.

In a rather stark contrast, "Real Man" and "Running Man" are being deemed rather stagnant with their unchanging format. While "Running Man" offers different games and missions every show, the general format does not change. "Real Man" has lost originality and is now more like an Army commercial.

Will "1 Night 2 Days" stay dominant on Sundays? Will "Running Man" or "Real Man" take over? Only time will tell.
