Garth Brooks Tour 2014 Announcement Boosts Box Set ’Blame It All On My Roots’ To No.1 On Billboard; No Dates And Locations Confirmed

Garth Brooks revealed he will be going on a world tour in 2014 on ABC's "Good Morning America," and the announcement came with a sudden boost of his recently-released box set "Blame It All On My Roots" to no. 1 on the Billboard albums chart this week.

Garth Brooks' box set "Blame It All On My Roots" only placed at no. 3 in the first week of release, but quickly shot up to no. 1 after he announced his world tour for 2014. The compilation sold another 146,000 copies of the set in its second week of release, Music Times reports. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the debut week of Garth Brooks' set sold 164,000 copies.

USA Today speculates that Garth Brook's 2014 world tour announcement made on Monday will keep sales up for next week's chart.

It's the ninth No. 1 album of Brooks' career and the second package with more than two discs to top the chart since Led Zeppelin's "How the West Was Won" live set in 2003, according to Billboard.

"Blame It All On My Roots" box set contains 8 discs: six audio and two DVDs.

Brooks decided to announce his world tour to host Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America":

"You know what, since it's you and since we've had a history forever, let's announce it.  We're going on a world tour in 2014," Brooks said "I can't believe I just did that, but you are a doll."

Brooks didn't expand on dates and locations for his tour, but clarified that it would be a "world tour" in 2014.

One thing that Music Times is sure of: fans can expect guest appearances from Brooks' wife, fellow country performer Trisha Yearwood, during the tour next year.

Garth admitted that one worry he has at 52-years-old is that a world tour would become a "wheelchair-and-walker kind of tour," but perhaps his boost in sales will restore his confidence.
