Perhaps, the "Glee" star is too familiar with this "subject" considering the pain she has gone through after her boyfriend Cory Monteith's tragic death last July.

Although the lyrics of her first single "Cannonball" really speaks about the singer's recent painful experience, it seems that the song wasn't initially made for her.

Apparently, the "Cannonball" single wasn't initially included on her debut album "Louder." It wasn't until after Cory's death that the actress returned to the record and add "Cannonball" together with "If You Say So" to the track list.

Lea Michele revealed her reasons for including the "Cannonball" to her album and making it her lead single.

"The minute I heard the song, I had a physical reaction to it. For me, it's been my strength," the singer-actress told MTV News.

She further revealed, "I listen to it every day. I know it was brought into my life for a reason."

She also wishes that this song would help others the same way it helped her.

"It's really been so helpful for me and I hope it's the same for other people as it's been for me," Michele added.

Although it wasn't originally included in her upcoming album, the "Cannonball" lyrics became the singer's "anthem" saying, "I think the great thing is that it's such a universal song; it certainly helped me with my loss that I'm dealing with."

She also feels that the song can relate to anyone experiencing a painful event.

"And I think it will translate and help people with whatever they need it for. I hope it gives them the strength that it's given me," she added.

Because of its powerful lyrics, it also became the lead single of her album.

The 27-year-old singer said, "It just really explains where I am right now and it's been such an inspirational song for me. It's been such a rock, such a source of strength for me."
