NBA Season Predictions, Standings 2013-2014: Who Would Have Thought That The Portland Trail Blazers Would Dominate The Western Conference, Are They For Real?

NBA Season Predictions, Standings 2013-2014: Portland Trail Blazers are for real. Still on top of the Western Conference defeating big teams like Spurs, Lakers, Pacers, Thunder and recently the Rockets proving they deserve the top spot on the West.

In their recent game against the Rockets, LaMarcus Aldridge simply proved their capabilities as they can dominate in all aspects of the game as he recorded a career-high 25 rebounds and 31 points against Houston at home.

A monster game from probably a future All Star player who received 132,818 votes in the first round of voting as he said it was not just a game but he felt that they needed to win to further solidify their standing.

"This was a 'we needed a win' night for me," said Aldridge after the Trail Blazers' 111-104 victory Thursday.

"I'm blessed," he added. "(But) I felt tonight, it was needed."

Everyone was impressed by what Aldridge did even getting the attention of their opponent then-head coach Kelvin Sampson, who is originally the Rockets' assistant coach after Kevin McHale missed the game.

According to Sampson, the Blazers can be an unstoppable force and that they deserve to be on top of their conference.

"Portland is obviously really good, and they're really good in this gym," Sampson said. "They are playing with a lot of confidence right now."

Confidence is the key to get more wins and that's what exactly this team has.

"I think we go into games with a certain level of confidence, but, at the same time, we realize that we're playing hard and our success is because we're playing hard," Portland coach Terry Stotts said. "Our record is what it is, but it's not easy. You have to compete every night."

The Blazers however is yet to face the defending champions, Miami Heat, in seven more games. Can they beat the unstoppable force of Miami? We just have to find out.
