KISS Guitarist House Fire; Ace Frehley's Home Goes Up In Flames; Guitarist Was Known for Guitar Pyrotechnics

Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley came home to find his house ablaze yesterday afternoon.

Ace Frehley, one of the original members of the Bronx-based heavy metal band KISS, was not at home at the time. Frehley's his house was heavily damaged in the fire.

Former-KISS guitarist Ace Frehley's house in the Westchester New York suburb of Yorktown Heights erupted in flames on Saturday afternoon. The Journal News reported that the fire ran through most of the house.

There are no reports on where Frehley was when the fire began. One of Ace Frehley's neighbors said that caretaker was staying at Frehley's house while he was away. There are no reports on whether Frehley's caretaker was home when the fire was happening. Frehley also was allowing the Red Cross use his home as an emergency residence whilst the KISS guitarist was away. There are no reports on whether Frehley's the house was occupied at the time of the fire.

The fire is said to have ravaged through most of the house, burning holes through the roof as well as damaging the insides of the stone property significantly too. The cause of the fire has yet to be revealed to the press and may still under investigation fire marshals.

Ace Frehley was one of the founding members of KISS, along with Peter Criss and Gene Simmons. Frehley was the lead guitarist. KISS formed in 1973. The band broke up in 1982. KISS reunited in the 90s and Frehley also rejoined the bandmates for several reunion tours. In  2002, Frehley announced he was leaving KISS to pursue other interests and the band replaced him with lead guitarist Tommy Thayer. Thayer also took on Frehley's Starman persona and the same stage make up.

Since leaving KISS, Ace Frehley released several solo works and played in several different bands.
