In the highly-acclaimed teen drama 'Gossip Girl', Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are portrayed as best friends. However, in real life, the two are reportedly no longer on speaking terms.

After Leighton Meester and Adam Brody's recent engagement, one insider claimed that CW Network's Serena van der Woodsen did not call Meester: "[Blake] was absolutely not one of the people who called Leighton to congratulate her on her recent engagement. After something of a thaw in their relationship during the final two seasons of Gossip Girl, Leighton and Blake don't speak anymore."

The two worked together for 6 years which could likewise be the reason why their friendship fell apart: "I think it's simply a matter of both of them being happy not to have to spend 18 hours a day with each other, but the friendship they struggled to build at the end of Gossip Girl has evaporated and they continue to stay as far away from each other as possible."
