Copywriter Dies From Too Much Work; Energy Drink Also Contributed To Her Death

Working too much can definitely bring you a lot of money but one of its obvious bad effects is deteriorating health, and worse, death.

This is something that has happened to a copywriter from Indonesia who worked for three straight days.

Malaysian women's lifestyle online magazine Venus Buzz reported that Y&R Indonesia copywriter Mita Diran fell into coma but died few days after for working for three straight days. Before she passed away, she even posted on her Twitter account that she she's had "30 hours of working and still going strooong."

Reports have revealed that her death was "due to a lethal combination of being overworked and excessive consumption of Kratingdaeng - the Thai version of Red Bull."

Sympathy and tears poured for Diran who was only on her mid-30s. Venus Buzz said they have "lost another talented individual in neighbouring Indonesia." Her friends describe Diran as "quirky and cheery with a strong Malaysian connection."

Immediately after she passed away, Y&R released a letter through their Facebook page. It said:

Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Advertising & Marketing community,

"It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we have to inform you we have lost our friend, sister, and work colleague, Mita Diran, earlier this evening. Mita was a talented copywriter with a gentle smile who will always live on in our hearts.

We have been to Mita's family residence tonight and expressed our sincere condolences on behalf of Y&R Group Indonesia. It is a great loss and we wish Mita's family the faith and strength in each other in going through this extremely difficult time."

Ditan and Indonesia are not alone when it comes to death case from overworking. In the United Kingdom, the Bank of America was put under huge scrutiny over the death of its intern who reportedly worked for 72 hours.
