Adele’s Album ‘21’ Hailed By Royals As Best Selling Album Of All Time; Who Among The Royal Family Will Bestow The Award?

Adele's songs will again gain recognition but this time it's from the British Empire. The 25-year-old singer will be receiving the Most Excellent Order of the British award for her exemplary contribution in the music industry. The 'Someone Like You' songstress will be appearing at the Buckingham Palace in London to officially receive the award.

After receiving the award, Adele will be officially hailed as "Miss Adele Adkins MBE". Apart from the Tottenham-born singer, other receipients of the award will include broadcaster Alec Jones, writer Joan Harries, comedian Rob Brydon, and songwriter PJ Harris.

While Adele's songs have successfully received several awards in the past, the MBE award would be one of her highest. She previously nabbed Oscar's Best Original Song for her single 'Skyfall' as well as her ninth Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance after her soulful rendition of 'Set Fore to the Rain'.

Her acceptance of the MBE award will be her first public appearance after giving birth to Angelo, her son with beau Simon Konecki. The couple was similarly seen enjoying a private concert of Lady Gaga two weeks ago.

Typically, it is Queen Elizabeth or Prince Charles who present the award. According to NBC, it is yet unknown who among the royal family will officially extend the MBE award to the recipients.

Garnering a worldwide sales of 28 million copies, Adele's album '21' was recently named as Amazon's "Best Selling Album of All Time" followed by Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Drem", and Broadway musical show's soundtrack, "Wicked". Adele's another album, '19', got the eight spot. In Amazon's list, she is the only singer to have two albums.
