Yuna Kim And Mao Asada To Compete At Respective National Figure Skating Championships: Who Will Win Gold At 2014 Sochi Olympics?

As the 2013 Grand Prix Figure season draws to a close, figure skating champions Yuna Kim and Mao Asada will prepare for their respective national championships in January.

After making her season debut at the Golden Spin in Zagreb, Yuna Kim will now prepare to appear at the Korean national championships before the Sochi Olympics.

The event will take place in Goyang from January 3 to January 5, and will be Yuna Kim's second event before competing for Olympic gold for a second time against main rival Mao Asada.

Mao Asada, meanwhile, will head into the Japanese national championships as the overwhelming favorite to lead the ladies division to Sochi. The Japanese national championships will be from December 20 to December 23.

Like Yuna Kim, Mao Asada has been at the top of her game this season, and is the only competitor to score above Yuna Kim's overall score at Zagreb.

"We've been rivals ever since our Junior years. There was always a lot of attention on us and strong expectations of us in both Japan and South Korea," said Mao Asada to the Global News Channel.

"There were times it was tough. But I think that without YUna Kim, I would not have developed, and in fact I think this friendly rivalry gave me my motivation."

Both Yuna Kim and Mao Asada are expected to retire after the 2014 Sochi Olympics, but who will retire as the 2014 Olympic gold medalist, and who will win the silver?

Stay tuned to find out!
