Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts’ New Contract Is The Envy Of Her Co-Anchors? Lara Spencer and Josh Elliot Feel They’re Not Being Recognized?!

The popular co-anchor of Good Morning America, Robin Roberts, received a fat contract that makes her the highest earning woman in the morning news and her colleagues reportedly are not too happy about it.

According to an insider, as reported by Radar Online, Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer were "extremely upset" because they were pushed to the side by the contract negotiation between the network and Robin. It turns out the contracts of both co-anchors are also up for renewal.

The source claimed both Elliott and Spencer felt like "slighted stepchildren."

"Josh and Lara both contribute to the show, and they don't feel they are being recognized for it. It's an ensemble cast, and it's not being treated that way by executive producer Ben Sherwood. Neither one of them are demanding huge salary increases, they just want to be treated with respect," the source added.

Earlier this week, news regarding the amount of Robin's contract was leaked to the press. The initial report stated that Robin was supposed to get $14 million but that seems to be a very low estimate.

Radar added: "Robin's new contract will pay her $20 million a year....and will keep her at ABC for the next five years. The reason GMA skyrocketed to number one in the ratings is because of Robin, and everyone involved in the contract talks recognized that. Frankly, Robin could have demanded $25 million, and ABC would have paid it to her."

"She is worth it, and deserves the hefty payday. Diane Sawyer, anchor of ABC's World News, earns well over $22 million," the report said.

Another morning news anchor, George Stephanopoulos, is not at all concerned about the breast cancer survivor's new contract, he is more focused about replace Diane Sawyer when she retires.

"He has made no secret that he no longer wants to do morning television," the source added. "His strengths are doing hard news."

As to when he will replace Sawyer, the source added, "Who knows when that will be?"
