Tim Tebow News Update: NFL Superstar’s Customized 1995 Ford Thunderbird College Car Up For Bidding At The Avenues

Tim Tebow News Update:

The NFL superstar may still be unemployed, but this does not stop him from doing charitable works as he is auctioning his 1995 Ford Thunderbird that he used way back when he was in college. The car was custom-built by racecar legend Richard Petty.

The car is on deisplay at The Avenues mall today until Sunday at lower level of the mall below the food court.

The car that Tim Tebow drove all throughout his college life when he was in University of Florida was donated to his foundation and has been restored and modified to become a legal street racecar by Petty's team at his garage in Level Cross, N.C.

The 1995 Ford Thunderbird is personalized with Gator-theme featuring a head turner orange and blue paint with no. 15 painted on each door.

"We're excited to have this true one-of-a-kind vehicle to raise awareness and funds towards our mission to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need," according to the executive director of Tim Tebow Foundation, Erik Dellenback. "From the moment we met Mr. Petty and his team, we knew they would make the perfect partner on this project."

The now legal street racecar Thunderbird made its first appearance on April during the third annual Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course.

Richard Petty would personally check on the car's progress each week to ensure that everything goes to plan.

"I just wanted to make sure we got all our best stuff in there," according to "The King." "I enjoyed watching it all come together, as this has been a car we've wanted to help with for a while now. Our guys did a great job, and it looks great for Tim and his foundation."

Tim Tebow was blown away with how the car turned out, commending how Petty's team managed to modify and restore it amazingly.

"It's hard to believe this incredible car is the same car I paid $500 for and would only start when it felt like it," Tebow said in April when he first saw the completed car in Petty's Garage. I have always been a fan of Mr. Petty and I am so thankful for his support of my foundation."

The car is up for bidding to support Tim Tebow Foundation intended to bring back faith in God to those who needed to see the light in the darkest hours.
