Kerri Kasem Can’t Visit Her Dad, Casey Kasem

Kerri Kasem, Casey Kasem's oldest daughter, failed to reach a visitation agreement with her ailing father. A court recently found that Casey Kasem is receiving adequate care from his wife.

Kerri Kasem was the only sibling in the Kasem family who failed to reach a visitation agreement with her father Casey Kasem.

Longtime radio and TV deejay and the voice of pop music, Casey Kasem is receiving ongoing treatment in hospital. Kasem is suffering from severe Parkinson's disease. A judge ruled on Tuesday that conservatorship is necessary for the voice of Shabby on Scoobie Doo as Kasem's three children and his wife of 30 years battle it out in court.

The visitation agreement details have not been divulged to the public.

Julie Kasem was seeking a conservatorship until recently because she and her siblings had been blocked from visiting their dying father.

After the settlement, Julie Kasem's lawyer, Andrew Katzenstein said "It's been resolved. We're glad the case was able to settle."

Mike Kasem told People Magazine: "For me, this matter is over with."

Kerri Kasem's attorney, Troy Martin, told reporters "We think the visitation terms are too restrictive. There hasn't been an agreement reached between Kerri and Jean. It could require us to file another conservatorship. We're still in negotiations."

A judge recently urged attorneys for Casey Kasem's wife and three of his adult children to reach an agreement letting the children visit their father who is suffering from advanced Parkinson's disease.

A doctor who evaluated Casey Kasem said the ailing radio personality wants to see his children. The Judge admits there is "bad blood" between the family. Attorneys for both sides planned to try to negotiate a visitation agreement Tuesday.

Superior Court Judge Lesley Green rejected a conservatorship and ruled that Casey Kasem is receiving good medical care. Judge Green urged lawyers to hammer out an agreement letting Kasem's three adult children visit. The children are being blocked by Casey Kasem's wife, Jean. The couple have been married for more than 30 years. Her lawyer, Marshall Grossman, said the children rejected a proposal that would have let them see Casey Kasem each month and on major holidays.

Last month Judge Green rejected an attempt by Kasem's daughter Julie to get temporary conservatorship for her father. Kasem's daughter cited reports by investigators and doctors who said Kasem was receiving  good medical treatment in his home. Julie Kasem's attorney, Andrew Katzenstein, hoped a visitation arrangement could be worked out. Grossman said "We're looking to bring peace, not piecemeal."

Casey Kasem who hosted "American Top 40," and "Casey's Top 40" played Shaggy in the cartoon "Scooby Doo."
