Although Lady Gaga has received a symbolic international applause by topping the charts in about nine countries with her ARTPOP album, X-Factor tycoon Simon Cowell isn't buying it.

The 53-year-old music mogul, who is to blame for the success of Leona Lewis and One Direction, feels the Gaga buzz has extremely cooled off in 2013.

“I think overall this has been a really, really good year for music, I was saying that to someone last night, it’s almost as if songs have come back into fashion again,” Cowell said in a pre-recorded radio interview with Kay Burley and Stig Abell of LBC 97.3. ""I mean, some people have had a great year, some people have had a bad year, it’s quite interesting that after all the hype, Lady Gaga, it’s almost as if people have just had enough of it.”

In fact, Cowell thinks Gaga's fellow entertainer Beyonce Knowles is actually the gal taking over the industry. He seems extremely impressed with how successful Bey was when surprisngly releasing her fifth self-titled album with no pre-advertisement.

“You see the Beyoncé album drop out of nowhere in the middle of the night and crash the internet,” he explained. “No pre-promotion, no stupid pictures, nothing. And again, maybe this is the sign of how things are going to change in the future."

Cowell's interview entitled "2013: What A Year That Was" will air Deceber 26th on LB 97.3.
