Jay Park's 3D Dance Movie 'Hype Nation' to Finally Hit Theaters January 16

K-Pop's resident b-boy Jay Park will finally have the chance to show off his skills on the big screen.

Hype Nation, the 3D dance movie starring Jay Park, is set to be released next month after about four years on the back burner.

The film, Korea's first three dimensional dance movie, began production back in 2010 and with a lot of buzz surrounding it, was supposed to be Jay Park's first comeback project since he left JYP Entertainment's idol group 2PM.

Aptly named, Hype Nation received a lot of hype when it began filming, not just because Jay Park was selected for the lead role, but for its diverse integrative cast including famed b-boy group Gamblerz, R&B group B2K, and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Teddy Riley.

However, production for the movie was halted after the staff and investors were deceived by a Korean-American named J.Lee. Lee reportedly scammed the filmmakers then fled the country, leaving the unfinished movie project behind.

However, Hype Nation was recently revived by a new investor and the creative director. Not wanting the movie's high-quality 3D filming to go to waste, the scam storyline was added to the script and production was finally completed.

According to production reps, those who have been waiting for the Hype Nation's revival will likely enjoy the new dramatic twist added to the already dynamic flick full of exciting dance battles and a expertly crafted original soundtrack.

Hype Nation is set to be released in South Korean theaters on January 16.
