Academy awards 2014 nominations bets are running strong for Oprah Winfrey for her role in The Butler. The predictions gained momentum after the celebrity chat show host was nominated by BAFTA in the Best Supporting Actress category, along with Academy award winners Julia Roberts and 'American Hustle' Jennifer Lawrence.

In December, Oprah also received SAG nom for her role in The Butler for the same category. Newcomer from 12 Years A Slave and have also been nominated along with Roberts and Lawrence. It's a tough competition out there and according to Mail Online, and Oprah Winfrey says she is humbled to have been considered for BAFTA and SAG by her peers.

In her comments to E!, Oprah said, "'The best part is it is a jury of your peers,' said Oprah. 'It's people who do this for a living-don't make me cry now!-It's people who do this for a living saying we're going to give you a vote. We think what you did deserves this."

Media mogul Winfrey, counted amongst the richest women, has a television network OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), a production house and a couple of magazines under her belt.

An Oscar nod may bring greater laurels for the celebrated chat show host and perhaps more challenging movie offers, where they challenge her real acting talent? Oprah has previously acted in 'Beloved' and 'The Color Purple. ' 'The Butler' is her third movie.

She played the role of Gloria Gaines in the movie.

On Wednesday, Ellen DeGeneres made a special mention of Oprah after receiving 12 People's Choice Awards trophies for her popular chat show.

"As a matter of fact, just yesterday I was talking to this lovely African-American woman and she told me she was single and she works 80 hours a week to get by and she looked forward to coming home every night and watching me, and that woman's name is Oprah Winfrey. I think I am doing something right."
