The One Direction tour rehearsals may not begin until March 2014, following a three-month break for the One Direction boys. A source notes that the One Direction band mates are completely exhausted and need some time off.

Harry Styles, 19, Zayn Malik, 20, Niall Horan, 20, Liam Payne, 20, and Louis Tomlinson, 21 spent 2013 on their "Take Me Home" tour, playing 131 shows around the world.

The "Where We Are" tour is already planned to begin April 2014 but a source close to One Direction told The Sun: "The lads are dead on their feet. They've completed a huge world tour and done endless promo in between.

"They approached management to work out a deal. Given their success, they could hardly disagree and understood entirely. It was all sorted on good terms."

Rolling Stone noted that the One Direction boys were "worked like dogs," for their "Take Me Home" tour, so perhaps it's a good thing that the boys are getting a break for three months.

According to News.com.au, the One Direction band mates won't get together for "Where We Are" 2014 tour rehearsals until mid-March.

The boys have currently gone their separate ways over the holiday break to spend time with family and girlfriends.

One Direction's 2014 "Where We Are" tour will see them tour South America for the first time, as well as North America and Europe. There are currently 88 dates planned.

Meanwhile, the 2014 world tour is about to break records set by U2 and The Rolling Stones: ticket sales are likely to earn One Direction an estimated $1 billion, CTV News reports.

A US rep told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Demand was so enormous for 'Where We Are' tickets that 21 American dates had to be added to the original schedule," CV News reports.

"It is absolutely conceivable that still more could be squeezed in before the end of 2014 but that will ultimately be up to the band and its management."
