Nicole Scherzinger is going to have a Happy New Year. The top dancing pop star just nabbed a huge solo deal. Nicole Scherzinger threw her net around a recording deal worth $4.5 million.

Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger has been talking with Sony Records on her break from her full-time gig as a judge on the UK reality TV show The X Factor

England's The Sun newspaper reported that Nicole is on her way to sign a deal with Sony that could see a new album by the summer 2014.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper "Nicole was the most popular member of the 'X Factor' panel this year and is the real winner in terms of bankability. She is set to sign with Sony and can't wait to get back to her music which took a back seat during 'X Factor.'"

Nicole Scherzinger's first solo album, "Killer Love," in 2011. Her first attempt at a solo record was shelved four years earlier.

Nicole Scherzinger is riding high on her popularity with British X Factor audiences. Besides the Sony deal, signed on for a string of deals for commercials.  Scherzinger renewed her Herbal Essences contract and added a £1 million contract to be cover girl for fashion range Missguided.

Nicole Scherzinger was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Before she formed The Pussycat Girls, Nicole appeared on the TV series "Popstars" as a member of the TV band Eden's Crush until 2002. Scherzinger sang lead with The Pussycat Dolls, which became one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. When the group went on hiatus Nicole released the solo record "Baby Love". Sherzinger released her first solo album "Killer Love" in 2011 after The Pussycat Dolls broke up Scherzinger has been a judge on TV series "The X Factor" since 2007.

Scherzinger has sold 50 million records worldwide with the Pussycat Dolls and another 16 million on her own. Nicole comes in at number eight in the 2013 rankings of the "Sexiest Artist of All Time."
