Lady Gaga has released an updated version on iTunes of the "Do What U Want" single after collaborating with Christina Aguilera during the finale of "The Voice" essentially dropping R. Kelly as her partner for the song.

The collaboration serves two purposes: she is hoping that the single will gain more traction on the pop charts leading to the Grammy Awards and second, she is distancing herself from R. Kelly-the original singer in the original "Do What U Want" version-following the negative press regarding his sexual proclivities with underage girls.

The latest version had Aguilera replacing Kelly's voice. It's similar to the performance they did in The Voice although there were some revisions on Aguilera's live lyrics, according to the Rolling Stone.

However, Gaga is not making a big deal of the collaboration claiming that it was a result of an invite from producers of The Voice.

"I was really excited because The Voice called and said they wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can't refuse," Lady Gaga said when interviewed by host Carson Daly after their December 17 live performance.

"Such an amazing show! And I said I want to know if Christina wants to do it with me!" she added.

Christina Aguilera was also effusive with praises for the "Edge of Glory" singer: "When I heard she wanted to collaborate, I said of course! She's such an innovative artist and a risk taker. And as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that."

Both artists have been reported as feuding after Gaga reportedly accused Aguilera of being a copycat over her music videos. But Gaga has since gone on public to heap praises on Aguilera, said Us Weekly.

"I'm a very big fan of Christina Aguilera. From the very beginning of when my career started there was all this controversy about the two of us, and I always felt that it was very unfair to her," she told TV host Andy Cohen.
