While Michael Schumacher remains flat on his bed after suffering a freak skiing accident, police are now having some progress in determining the cause of unfortunate incident. Reports said that a helmet camera used by the Formula One legend during his skiing escapade is now in the hands of the authorities.

According to Sabine Kehm, the German professional driver's manager, the item was handed to French police today but there's no assurance if it was working while Schumacher was sliding down on French Alps snow. He also said that rumors saying the turnover "have been done against the wishes of the family is untrue."

There's no progress on Schumacher's condition compared from yesterday according to the Grenoble University Hospital Center where the known Ferrari driver is admitted. However, Philippe Streiff, a close friend of Michael told media that he is no longer in danger, something that contradicts what Kehm earlier said. The manager said that Schumacher's condition is 'critical but stable.'

"Gerard Saillant (the doctor overseeing Schumacher) said it is a serious condition but his life is not in danger anymore now, thankfully," Streiff, who also drives for Ferrari, told media outside the hospital.

Meanwhile, the celebration of the seven time world champion's 45^th birthday (January 3) continues. Hundreds of fans and well-wishers trooped to the hospital parking's lot to pay tribute to their idol and give their "Happy Birthdays" and "get well soon" messages.

Fans from Italy and other neighboring countries arrived by bus or car from afternoon to midnight, saying they are compelled to honor one of the world's greatest athlete.

"With all the joy he has given us with his victories, we had to be there," said Gulio Carissimo who drove for four hours Friday morning to reach Grenoble.

During the night, another group lighted up the hospital's wall with words "STAY STRONG!" and "KEEP FIGHTING!" using a projector.
