Pacquiao Vs Mayweather Fight - Pacman Denies Mayweather Fight Rumors; Admits That It Will Probably Not Happen Anymore

It was good while it lasted. Manny Pacquiao would rather bring good news, but he has to admit the harsh reality that has haunted the boxing world for the past six years: Pacquiao-Mayweather may not happen anymore.

In a statement shared on the website Philboxing, the former pound for pound king says: "I have no plans to go to the United States to talk to Floyd. That's not true. If it's a done deal already, how come I do not know anything about it?"

Time is running out for the mega-fight. Pacquiao just turned 35 and Mayweather will turn 37 in February. Both fighters are not in their proverbial peaks anymore, but still enough to keep them at the top.

Pacquiao continued: "I have been saying this over and over again, I am not afraid to fight anybody, but if somebody doesn't want to fight me, same here. I, too, won't face him who doesn't want to face me."

Floyd Mayweather Jr has constantly shifted his demands with the Manny Pacquiao fight. He has required Olympic Style drug testing before the fight. Pacman initially refused but eventually relented to get the fight going. Then, Mayweather wanted a bigger percentage of the purse.

Pacquiao also relented to that requirement. "Money" eventually claimed that money was not enough for him to fight the Filipino boxer. When Pacquiao lost to Timothy Bradley by a decision and eventually to a knockout punch on the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather said Pacquiao is not worthy anymore.

The demands for the fight died down, but they were eventually resurrected when Pacquiao beat Brandon Rios and the WBC designated Pacman as the top contender to Floyd Jr's belt. Now, Mayweather had a new demand: He will not negotiate with Bob Arum, head of Top Rank Promotions who handles Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's response (translated from Filipino) in the same Philboxing interview: "Floyd has also been saying, he will only fight me if I separate from Top Rank and Bob Arum- that's impossible because I still have one year on my contract. So how? If I will not renew my contract, that can only happen in 2015."
