Sarah Hyland slammed Carly Rae Jepsen over her new role in Broadways's Cinderella. Carly Rae Jepsen will make her Broadway debut in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella this February, but don't expect Modern Family star Sarah Hyland to catch it.

Sarah Hyland took to Twitter to blast Carly Rae Jepsen as 'not okay' to play Cinderella on Broadway. Sarah may be a fan of Carly Rae Jepsen's music, but the wearer of the glass slipper has hit a glass ceiling.

Sarah Hyland  wrote on Twitter: "Today's a meltdown day. Carly Rae jepsen is going to be cinderella??? On broadway???? NOT OK WITH THIS. Tell me it's gonna be ok @LauraOsnes."

According to The Inquisitor, "Modern Family" stars Sarah Hyland tweeted that Carly Rae Jepsen is not the best choice for the Cinderella role that earned Laura Osne a Tony award nomination.

Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has always wanted to be on Broadway. The Grammy-nominated pop singer has been doing musical theater since she was in high school. Carly Rae Jepson will finally get to see that dream come true as she gets ready to make her debut on Broadway. Carly Rae Jepsen starred in Annie, The Wiz and Grease before attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

The celebrity twitter feud between Sarah and Carly started after it was announced that Carly Rae Jepsen will take over the lead role in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella starting on February 4, 2014. Jepson gushed "Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale. My favorite part of the school year was our trip to New York, where we met Broadway performers and toured the theaters. It's so hopeful and inspiring. I've always been one to believe in the impossible, so I relate to her character completely."But that doesn' mean Hyland doesn't like Jepson. She's just wrong for the role. Hyland later tweeted "Too avoid anyone assuming things? My previous tweets do not mean that I'm not a Carly Rae Jepsen fan. The end."

Laura Osnes has played Cinderella for over a year. The put-upon step sister wants everyone to just get along. Before she sees the actors turning back into pumpkins she tried to calm the waters, taking to Twitter to say "Have we learned nothing from Ella about charity, generosity, and kindness? @CinderellaBway"

Carly Rae Jepson started doing musical theater performances when she was in high school. Earlier this year Jepsen finished her first headline tour of the U.S. The 23-year-old actress Sarah Hyland plays Haley Dunphy on ABC's hit comedy show "Modern Family." 

The current production was adapted by the playwright Douglas Carter Beane.  

The Inquisitr pointed out that Sarah Hyland has been flexing her acting muscles outside of "Modern Family," but won't be doing any nude scenes in her upcoming film adaptation of "Vampire Academy." Hyland says the movie "actually stays really true to the book" and the movies features "very sexy people."
