In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, Fergie talked The Black Eyed Peas and her next solo project.

First she decided to knock down all the rumors about The Black Eyed Peas breaking up.

"We never broke up. We did four albums together... toured all over the world nonstop," said Fergie. "I did "The Dutchess" right in between those four."

Fergalicious confirmed that she need a hiatus to get her family life in order.

"It was time for me to get a little break, have my kid, get little man in the picture," she said.

Currently, Fergie is taking time out to let her creative juices flow.

"I feel like I'm in my cave right now. I'm watching and listening. I'm kind of doing what I did before. Even before I was in The Black Eyed Peas. I'm studying," said Fergie. "I'm studying what's out there musically. I'm studying my old stuff. I'm studying the new stuff. Cause everything goes in cycles I feel like. I'm just marinating all my ideas right now."

Fergie also touched on her business collaboration with Will.I.iam.

"I'm also signed to his [Will.I.iam] imprint on Interscope. He knows I want to do a solo album next. I think everybody knows that."

Lastly, Fergie insisted that she is taking her time with this album since anything worth while doesn't come easy.

" 'The Dutchess' was comprised of songs from a seven year period, a lot of people don't know that. I'm just...I've been writing down my ideas," she said. "I've been in my little creative cave. The ideas just come when they come. That's the beauty of it. It is so not forced. So when I do come out with my album I'm really proud of it."
