American Horror Story Season 4 To Feature German Jessica Lange In 1950: Circus, Ed Gein, Or McCarthyism?

As "American Horror Story: Coven" nears its end, spoilers regarding season 4 is already surfacing regarding the star of the series—Jessica Lange.

According to a recent report by EW, Ryan Murphy has already begun plotting "American Horror Story" season 4, and the "Coven" finale will have hints regarding the premise.

"It's set in 1950," said Murphy. "If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited!”

Fans have already begun guessing what the plot or theme of "American Horror Story" season 4 will be. A prominent guess right now is the serial killer Ed Gein.

"He was a serial killer active in the 1950s. I think the story will be set in suburbia, where possibly a German immigrant (Jessica Lange) has a son who becomes a serial killer like Ed Gein," wrote Drago Harley.

"Well, there's McCarthyism, the Cold War, the Korean War. I guess Murphy can somehow shoehorn 50 different monsters and aliens into those contexts," added Minutiae.

One already prominent theory regarding "American Horror Story" season 4 is the presence of a circus storyline.

Publications like TVLine and GeekNation have already reported that the carnival/circus theme is highly possible for "American Horror Story" season 4. According to Ryan Murphy, filming could take place in Santa Fe, which would be a perfect location to film a circus as well.

So what will "American Horror Story" season 4 be about? A circus? A serial killer? McCarthyism? Or maybe a combination of everything, as Ryan Murphy often likes to do.
