As "The Americans" season 2 premiere draws closer, spoilers regarding the season opener have a number of fans talking and curious.

Recently at the Television Critics Association press tour, the executive producers and cast of "The Americans" divulged that the premiere will include a rather uncomfortable sex scene.

"I think what we wanted to depict was the most powerful, shocking and mildly humorous and intimate moment," teased executive producer Joe Weisberg.

"But [we] also actually talked a lot about that moment — what would be right, and what would be true, and what would capture all those things. We discussed every possible position, and that's the one we came up with that moment."

Could the spoilers denote the kids walking in on Philip and Elizabeth?

And how do cast members Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell feel about filming sex scenes?

"There usually is alcohol involved, because I’m not — neither of us are — comfortable doing it in front of … the crew are no longer strangers, but it's not something you enjoy or relish or ever really become comfortable doing," said Rhys.

"But the good thing about the sexuality in the show — at least where I'm coming at it — there is a gift in not having [it] be this big, sweeping romantic, movie and have to be so in love and so beautiful and so sexy … There is kind of a freedom in that. It's kind of messier and more direct than that," said Russell.

Given the rumors that Rhys and Russell as in fact dating in real life, that may complicate the sex scenes even more on "The Americans."

In addition, spoilers confirm that season 2 of "The Americans," as previously reported, will focus more on Paige and the dynamic of the family.

The first season was very much about the marriage of the couple and the terrible struggle they were having," said Weisberg. However, season 2 will show the conflict their situation brings to their two children as well.

Given the recent teaser trailer for "The Americans" season 2, this should come as no surprise.

"We have big wig plans," added Weisberg.

"There's a big wig arc. We're putting the final touches," said Fields.

"We're smiling, but we're not kidding," said Weisberg.
