Lindsay Lohan at Sundance to Announce Psychological Thriller; Ready for a `Fresh Start’

Lindsay Lohan tells Sundance that she is coming back to movies with psychological thriller that Lindsay is also producing. Lohan appeared at Sundance followed around by a camera crew. Lindsay Lohan let the Sundance Film Festival know she's ready for a "fresh start."

Lindsay Lohan, 27, is making a comeback after her heavily hyped drug and legal battles. Lindsay appeared at a small press conference on Park City, Utah's Main Street to say she will produce and star in a film called "Inconceivable." Lohan's new film is scheduled to start production in March. Lindsay says the new film is about a woman trying to reclaim something she lost, adding that she "related to the character in a lot of ways."

Lindsay was followed around Sundance by a film crew that is shooting a reality series about Lohan for OWN. Lohan's press conference was filmed for the series and reporters were told that if they asked personal questions, they would be asked to leave.

"Inconceivable" is a thriller being produced by the independent film company Emmett/Furla films. The company that just made the hit war movie "Lone Survivor." Randall Emmett, Chief Executive Officer of Emmett/Furla films said the new Lindsay Lohan movie will cost about $5 million to make.

Emmett called Lohan "one of the greatest young actresses of her generation." He said Sundance is "just a special place for us to announce this film."

Lindsay Lohan got out of rehab stint last year. She is still on probation for a stealing a necklace and lying to the cops about an auto accident. She said she is grateful to be at Sundance and back in the movie business, "I've never had the honor of coming here before ... to bring something to the table, which is starting fresh for me. And I'm filming my Oprah docu-series right now, so I get to that to the people who have been watching that as well. It's a nice change to be back among people that are in the industry that I've been in since I was a kid."

Emmett said Lohan found the script, helped choose the director and was part of the casting process. She said "I even approached Juliette Lewis and was emailing some other people. "I don't know if she would do it, but I would die if she did: Jessica Lange."

Emmette said "She read the script, she called, she said, 'We're making this movie, are you in or out?' I said, 'I'm in.'" Emmett said the audience is "going to really be shocked when they see Lindsay take this role on."

Lohan said "It's therapeutic for me to throw myself into something that really excites me and something that I love to do so much. There's nothing better than having seen all of your ideas and thoughts that you've been thinking about to come to fruition and to share that with people. I think that's why I've always loved making movies so much. So it's nice to be able to have another position in the film rather than just showing up and being on the set."

The director will be announced next week. The film will be put out by Lionsgate.
