Kristen Stewart To Play The Role Of An Alzheimer Patient’s Daughter; ‘Twilight’ Star’s Dog To Have A Part In The Film?

Although her film 'Camp X-Ray' just made its debut, Kristen Stewart was recently enlisted to play a pivotal role in the film adaptation of 'Still Alice'. The film is based on Lisa Genova's novel which revolves around the life of a university professor diagnosed with Alzheimer.

Julianne Moore will be playing the role of the professor whereas the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actress will be her on-screen daughter, Lydia.

"Kristen is super excited to work with Julianne Moore. It's just been confirmed that she will play the part of her daughter in a movie called 'Still Alice'. They will film in New York and Kristen plans on bringing her dog Bailey, who may have a part in the film," claims one insider.

Its synopsis reads:

"Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. As confusion starts to cloud her thinking and her memory begins to fail her, she receives a devastating diagnosis: early onset Alzheimer's disease. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away. In turns heartbreaking, inspiring and terrifying, Still Alice captures in remarkable detail what's it's like to literally lose your mind."

Author Genova has a Harvard doctorate degree in neuroscience which she skillfully applied in the novel's theme. It has been translated into over 25 languages. Filming will officially start in February.
