Ben Affleck Batman movie update: Ben Affleck is in the news for a risque bathroom joke he made, but he’s also landing headlines thanks to his involvement in the superhero sequel, “Batman VS. Superman.”

His wife, Jennifer Garner who was recently seen in the “Dallas Buyers Club” says that his husband’s suit in the film is a “total reinvention.” She spoke with Entertainment Tonight and revealed that costumer designers on the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” film had radically revised the suit worn by cape crusader.

“I’ve seen the suit,” the actor’s wife said. “It’s a total reinvention, it looks great,” she added.

According to The Guardian, director Kevin Smith, has previously revealed in his podcast that the new Batsuit marks a sea change from previous big screen iterations. The filmmaker shared on his podcast, Hollywood Babble-On, that the new costume was never seen in a movie before.

“You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this Matrix, X-Men black armour thing. There wasn’t a single nipple on this fricking suit.”

The “Batman vs. Superman” release date is delayed by 10-months, according to the Daily Mail. The film, starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, will be released on May 6, 2016. It was originally scheduled for showing on July 17, 2015.

The Daily Mail notes that according to official news, the delay was made so that Zack Snyder and his team will have the opportunity to “fully realize their vision, given the complex nature of the story.”

There has been rumors though that production of the new film have been hampered because of an alleged injury of Ben Affleck. The 41-year-old star is filling Christian Bale’s shoes as the cape crusader superhero opposite Henry, who is reprising his role as Superman.

Ben Affleck’s representative has not confirmed or denied the speculations.
