The Hateful Eight Casting: Bruce Dern In Negotiations With ‘Django Unchained’ Director Quentin Tarantino – ‘We Had A Conversation’

The Hateful Eight Casting will include Quentin Tarantino's latest discovery Christoph Waltz together with Bruce Dern, according to reports by Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.

Bruce Dern himself has told EW that he has been talking with Tarantino about the said film, though nothing is final and official as of the moment.

"We had a conversation," Dern revealed about the film. "I mean, he hasn't hired me yet or anything. But we had a conversation about the material, yes we did."

The Academy award-winning director revealed in November that he got so inspired in filming "Django Unchained" that he wanted to shoot a movie in the same genre once more. He also made clear that the new film he's making will not be a sequel to his first Western movie, "Django Unchained."

"I had so much fun doing Django, and I love westerns so much, that after I taught myself how to make one, it's like, 'OK, now let me make another one now that I know what I'm doing,'" he told Jay Leno.

For the eight actors to play a part in QT's film, well he hasn't name any yet, though Hollywood Reporter claims that Christoph Waltz, who won two best supporting actor Oscars for both Tarantino films Django and Inglourous Basterds, will have a place in the film.

Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" is said to be based on the 1960's film "The Magnificent Seven," which was inspired by the Japanese film Seven Samurai.

In addition to the early casting rumors, Deadline reports that QT has included Bruce Dern -  whose film with Tarantino was Django -  on the film as well.

Tarantino aims to shoot his new western movie this summer, however there is no guarantee that this film will ever make it to the cinemas. The brilliant director has talked about numerous projects that never made it to the big screen including, another sequel to Kill Bill, a prequel to Pulp Fiction.

Nonetheless, with "Django Unchained" being Tarantino's most successful movie in his career, with an impressive $425 million gross worldwide, it would not be impossible for him to pursue the project.

Django paved way to Quentin Tarantino's five Oscar nominations and a best original screenplay award prize in February 2013.
