Metta World Peace Thinks JR Smith Is Fun And Teammate Should Not Be Fined! Recalls His Best Pranks On The Court!

Metta World Peace feels like the NBA has taken out all the fun in basketball. That is, if fun includes the full blown fights and not the pushing and shoving stare-downs that we are all confined to. He also believes JR Smith should not be fined for untying shoelaces.

World Peace is nursing an injury but he is expected to return within a week. The New York Knicks definitely need all the help they can get. However, the NBA will not let them resort to tactics like untying shoelaces.

From nba.com: "New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been fined $50,000 for recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations."

While the media and social networks saw it as unethical and a move that could place a fellow player in peril, Metta World Peace believes it is nothing more than another facet of the game.

From the New York Post: "I thought what J.R. did was funny.  Trevor Ariza's shoe, I threw it into the stands. And I've pulled Paul Pierce's shorts down. Those things are like fun and entertaining. A computer made that decision. Only computers make those decisions.''

Of course, he was not the only one who did it. What goes around, comes around, in knots, apparently.

"Somebody did that to me before and it made a knot.  They tried to loosen it but made a knot and I had to come out of the game. I had to bite the thing.''

On his recovery process, World Peace takes his zen-like principles to heart.  He's not going to be sucked in to the cutthroat lifestyle of the Big Apple: "I'm not going to rush it. New York City, they rush everything. It's life. It happens when it happens. Take your time. Relax. Slow down the music. Too much techno [music]. It's like sex. Take your time. Where you going? Just relax. Enjoy love.''
