Kristen Saban ‘Beat The Devil’ Out Of Best Friend Sarah Grimes Like She Was `Boom Boom Mancini'

Kristen Saban, the daughter of Alabama coach Nick Saban, "beat the devil" out of sorority sister Sarah Grimes in 2010, according to a lawsuit. According to  Grimes' lawyer Kristen Saban punched her sorority sister "like Boom Boom Mancini."

The Kristen Saban incident was first reported in July 2012. Robert Prince and Joshua Hayes, Kristen's attorneys, are meeting with Tuscaloosa County, Ala., Circuit Judge James H. Roberts Jr. along with Saban's her former friend Sarah Grimes.

Sarah Grimes' lawyer, Stephen Strickland, said Kristen Saban "beath the devil" out of his client. According to written testimony and arguments in court Tuesday the daughter of University of Alabama coach Nick Saban told lawyers she was only defending herself. Saban says Grimes was drunk when the fight, which began over a Facebook post, broke out.

Neither Kristen Saban nor Sarah Grimes was in court during the hearing. Grimes' lawyer filed copies of their sworn testimony in pleadings before the judge. Circuit Judge James Roberts Jr. is apparently trying to decide whether to dismiss the case entirely. Grimes' lawyers argue that it should be up to the jury to decide whether Saban started the fight and whether or not she defended herself using excessive force.

Judge Roberts said he would consider a request by Kristen Saban's attorneys to end the lawsuit with a ruling in her favor after the hearing. The original civil suit said Grimes suffered an "elbow contusion, a concussion, cervical strain, and headache." Lawyers for Saban want the lawsuit dismissed. They claim that Grimes was the aggressor.

Court documents show Grimes and Saban were at odds before the fight because the Saban didn't invite her sorority sister to a workout in the Crimson Tide football facility or to the premiere of a movie about the Coach Saban. Records show that talks involving Coach Saban's wife after the fight didn't stop the lawsuit. Neither Nick Saban nor wife Terry Saban is directly involved in the case.

Grimes sued Kristen Saban in 2012. The suit sought an unspecified amount of money for the fight.

But Grimes' attorney, Stephen Strickland, told Roberts jurors Kristen Saban punched Grimes ''like Boom Boom Mancini.'' Strickland said, ''she had the devil beat out of her.''

Both Saban and Grimes were members of Phi Mu sorority at Alabama. The two women graduated last year.
