"The Mentalist" season 6 could be saying goodbye to one of its mainstays.

Owain Yeoman, who plays Wayne Rigsby, suggested that his character's days are numbered in a mysterious tweet about a week ago.

Yeoman tweeted: "Morning LA! Beautiful day for a morning bike ride. A nice way to start the first day of my last ever Mentalist ep!"

That kind of statement sent fans, impatient for another sampling for the episode 13 of "The Mentalist" season 6, reeling especially considering the huge cliffhanger for the episode 12 titled "The Golden Hammer."

In episode 12, Osvaldo "Oscar" Ardiles, played by David Norona, sought the help of Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) who thought that both Wayne Rigsby and his wife, Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti), can lend their expertise. Some Fans initially suspected that Ardiles was Red John.

However, before anybody can help Ardiles, his body was discovered by Wayne Rigsby in a grimy and dark room. The killer could be in the same room as him, and the former CBI investigator doesn't have any gun.

Wayne Rigsby's death certainly coincided with what Righetti revealed to PopSugarlast month. Righetti said that the writers haven't decided yet how "they're going to exit the character or, "if they have, they haven't shared it with me...I don't know if they really know to be honest."

"I think they're still trying to figuring out the best exit strategy for the character," she added.

After the cliffhanger, fans hope that episode 13 can provide the answers since CBS is mum on the issue.

The 13th episode of "The Mentalist" season 6 has the intriguing title "Black Helicopters."

CBS hasn't announced the return date for the popular series yet. However,IMDB.com earlier surmised that it could be on March 9 in time for the return date of "The Good Wife," the show that usually follows The Mentalist in the network's lineup.

"They usually have those two shows' schedules stay in tandem," the website added.

However, Hollywood Hills warned fans against holding their breaths for spoilers since "CBS doesn't usually release new promos before long breaks."
