The 'Fantastic Four' movie script is finished. After the highly publicized revision, they now have a clear direction of where the franchise is going. The casting calls have begun and only Michael B. Jordan is a lock for a role. However, Miles Teller seems to have an inside track.

Michael B. Jordan is already confirmed to play Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch. The role used to belong to Chris Evans, who is now Captain America.

Miles Teller spoke with Punch Drunk Critics recently, and asked about the Fantastic Four casting rumor (where he is up for Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic) and he replied:  "Yeah, that should be coming up in the next few weeks." Does "The Spectacular Now" star have the role already? Variety says he is in the running, but is not yet a lock: "But sources say the actor was misunderstood and that he is testing but isn't the frontrunner or officially attached. Other actors expected to test for the part include "Game of Thrones'" Kit Harington and Richard Madden."

For the other 'Fantastics,' Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman (formerly portrayed by Jessica Alba) is disputed by two actresses. From Variety: "Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan are expected to test for Sue Storm. Michael B. Jordan is attached to play Johnny Storm, but he is expected to test with the actors to see which group has the best chemistry."

It is interesting to note that Sue Storm and Johnny Storm are siblings. Now that they have cast Michael B. Jordan and they have two Caucasian actresses for the part of Sue Storm, how will they translate that on the big screen? It should not be a big deal to explain (adoption, step-siblings) but it is a deviation from the comic book norm.

As of this writing, no prospects for Ben Grimm/The Thing have come out. The rumor about Terry Crews has yet to gain progress.

20^th Century Fox prefers up and coming actors to fill-in the roles, as they want to lock them in for the long-term. Fox has grand plans for their super heroes, and the highly anticipated crossover between FF and the X-Men will be epic, to say the least. Thus, the casting choices would be very significant.
