Scoop DeVille On Kendrick Lamar’s The Recipe Song: It Was A Replacement For Dr. Dre’s Detox And Originally Featured Damian Marley

Hip-hop producer and rapper Scoop DeVille has worked closely with Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar, this is why when he says something about the two famous rappers, people instantly believe it.

In an interview with Vlad TV, the rapper from Los Angeles, California has revealed some connections between Lamar and Dr. Dre songs.

VladTV ask the Get Busy Committee member why Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city is lacking collaborations with Dr. Dre, he revealed that the album's main single 'The Recipe' is actually an original by the legendary hip-hop artist. He even added that the song originally featured reggae artist Damian Marley.

"I don't know. I think he's trying to keep what he's doing a secret," Scoop said.

"It's actually funny because the records Kendrick was rapping on like 'The Recipe,' that was a Detox record. So, originally who had got the record was Dre. We put it in Dre's hand. He hit me back like 'Yo man, what's up with these records?' There was like another record we did too that he was feeling. He was like 'Yo man, you think I need another weed record or something about weed referencing?' In the song, 'smoking weed...,' and we're talking about that. And I'm like 'Of course. You need that because this is you. This song is perfect for you. I only hear you on this.' So, he had got Damian Marley on the record originally and that opened up a whole 'nother door too. To doing Jamaican music and rasta stuff, reggae stuff."

Scoop DeVille speaks highly of Lamar's the good kid, m.A.A.d city and surely, putting Dr. Dre's name in there will provide a huge lift.

"We've got a few singles in the pipeline also for [Kendrick's album]," Scoop said. "I think everybody is going to be pretty amazed once they hear everything, 'cus Kendrick is real talented and it's just cool to be a part of the movement with Dre."
