Android 4.4 KitKat Update Now Arriving To HTC One In Europe, Samsung Galaxy S3 And Note 2 Coming Soon

The Android 4.4 KitKat update is slowly taking over the Android world as more and more devices are upgraded to the latest version of the platform. Now, it's the European HTC One that's getting the upgrade.

In a report by GSM Arena, French network carrier SFR is the first to roll out the update to the HTC One in Europe. This means other carriers would probably make the update in the next few weeks.

Some of the changes Android 4.4.2 KitKat brings to HTC's current flagship is the new Sense 5.5 UI that brings in a lot of performance improvements. BlinkFeed can now be turned off, which would make your smartphone noticeably faster.

On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly working on the KitKat update for its Galaxy S3 and Note 2 devices with a possible release by late March.

Some of the improvements include full screen album art on lockscreen, transparent status bar, white notification icons, and other security and performance enhancements.

Nowadays, manufacturers are really making an effort to deliver the latest Android version to their devices just so they remain to be relevant in the market. Let's see which devices would get Android Kitkat as well.
