Blackberry Phones Are What The US Department Of Defense Prefers As It Orders 80,000 Units From Canadian Manufacturer

For the Canadian-based company, there may still be hope after the US Department of Defense orders 80,000 Blackberry phones for its employees.

In the report by GSM Arena, the US department is reportedly in the midst of its smartphone expansion strategy, where employees will get to use 1,800 mobile devices which include certain models like the "Apple iPad 3 and iPad 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets and Samsung Galaxy S3, and Motorola RAZR."

As a result, Blackberry's shares notched as high as $10 per share, keeping the company afloat amidst the numerous income woes it has been experiencing over the past couple of years.

Through the years, Blackberry has always been the darling of security agencies, and even the national government - thanks to the enhanced security features of its Blackberry phones.

In fact, the entire Blackberry 10 lineup has been certified by the Department of Defense in terms of security standards.

Will this be the beginning of Blackberry's rise to power once more? In spite the grave issues it has been facing, we sure hope it would manage to do so.

Besides, everyone loves an underdog.
