The NBA Trade Rumors for Omer Asik will only stop until he is actually traded. As of now, the Rockets are paying him for nothing. If the Celtics offer Jeff Green, they should actually consider.

The report from Sam Smith of Bulls.com "More executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green. They're probably trying to persuade someone to take Gerald Wallace along with Green, though many figure they'll eventually move Green. A nice exchange could be for Omer Asik, giving the Celtics a point guard/defensive center core to move forward with along with Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk. And Houston could use Green as a stretch four scorer."

Jeff Green is the second best trade asset of the Celtics after Rajon Rondo. While speculation for Rondo is strong because of the activity from the Celtics front, they are really exploring what they can get for Jeff Green.

Their exploration has led them to familiar territory: at the gates of the Houston Rockets. GM Daryl Morey still hasn't found the right offer, and he has even tried to make people believe that Omer Asik would come back. Despite the publicized 'walkout' when he made his trade request (more of a demand) public, the Rockets actually said he is injured. From Ultimate Rockets:

"He had some swelling again in his knee. It seems like he amps it up to a certain level and it swells up again. They're still trying to figure out what's causing that swelling when he gets up to a certain level of activity. They MRI, they sent it out again for certain people to look at again. His symptoms are not going the way the doctors think they should be. He seems like he's another guy that gets 95 yards down the field, you think he's going to be fine, and all of a sudden, he falls back."

That will probably not help his trade value at all. The Rockets seem to be overvaluing Asik. They could not find a worse time for a trade when many teams are tanking and first round picks are more valuable than ever.
