How Far Do Idols Go To Please Their Fans?

"We will return our fans' abundant love with a great song." This statement rings true for many idols that comeback with an awesome new image and pay back their fans' loves through their music and even providing snack for them. Idols are eager to take care of their fans.

The lengths that fans will go to see their favorite idols are astonishing. Even in freezing winter weather fans will get in line early in the morning to see their idols perform on music programs. Fans will show up wherever idols go. Not to mention, they'll buy all of their favorite idol(s)' albums.

And so idols have become more and more involved. They had to work harder to get noticed among the numerous competing groups, and put in greater effort to capture the fans' attention. Among these idols' efforts, they've recently come into physical contact with their fans. They've recently started to offer food trucks, packed lunches, and even snacks to show their fans how much they care.

Girl's Day is the best at this new expression of gratitude. They held their comeback at the beginning of this month. At the time, they rented out a snack corner/restaurant and ate ddukbokki with their fans. In honor of winning 1st place on a music program, Girl's Day invited 300 of their fans to have lunch with them.

Rainbow BLAXX also did their share. As an expression of thanks to their fans that stayed and cheered them on at an overnight recording, they gave out sandwiches and milk. Dal Shabet gave out chicken to fans who came to visit them in the cold weather.

Big Star's Feel Dog gave out kimbap to the fans during the shooting of MBC 'Idol Star Athletics.' The idols aren't shy about expressing their thanks, no matter what time or where they are.

This type of snack gifting became popular last year. Last holiday season EXO prepared a mini cafe to show fans their gratitude. Tasty prepared homemade meals to hand out. 2PM gave gifts to students during the week of their standardized testing. The idols' hearts of gratitude are the same, but the way they express them are all very different.

Girl's Day's agency rep Na Sang Chun said, "There's a limit to idols singing and unilaterally talking to their fans. The way they can comfortably converse and spend time with their fans is while they eat together. We've been getting good responses. There's been an increase in fans' letters expressing they had a great time, and even the fan cafe subscription rate is higher."

Not only that, fans would upload photos as proof of spending personal time with their favorite idols on their SNS. These online posts had an enormous effect on 'word of mouth' promotions.

Words such as 'boyfriend idol' and 'friendly idol' were born of such interactions between idols and fans. It's much more effective for idols to meet with their fans at fan signings and fan meetings than just yelling out 'We love you' after their performances. These types of personal interactions might be one of the most effective ways idols can increase the number of loyal fans.

Idols are thankful to their massive number of fans for all they do because they understand just how important their fans are. It's so lovely that they're able to express their hearts of thanksgiving by directly interacting with them, and we hope that the idols will strive to outdo other idols in how they show their gratitude.
