Michael Schumacher Condition Update: French Hospital Releases Statement To Deny Rumors The F1 Legend Is Dead

Formula One legend Michael Schumacher remains in the hospital in an induced more than one month after suffering from an injury while skiing along French Alps. The wait for him finally waking up is taking too long that some are even spreading rumors that the Grenoble Hospital where he's staying is just covering things up. People speculate that Schumacher is already dead.

According to the Daily Star, a hospital representative has stepped out to deny those rumors. The report said that "a spokesperson for the hospital has stated that the Schumacher is still alive and doctors are trying to bring him out of the induced coma."

The seven-time world champion's condition isn't getting any better either. Reports have it that his wife, Corrina, is talking to Schumacher for most part of the day, hoping that he would respond.

"We are sure that familiar voices, such as those of family members, present a calming effect. They give you a sense of security," a neurosurgeon from the hospital said.

However, all of Corrina's efforts leads to nothing as the 45-year old German remains unresponsive.

Earlier this month, medical experts overseeing Schumacher's condition said that the sports icon might not be the same as before once he wakes up. Even his compatriot and fellow F1 racer said hoping for a "miracle and he can be the same guy he was before."

"We still don't know what shape he will be in when he wakes up, which is awful for his family and friends," Vettel told reporters in Jerez in southern Spain.

Doctors also spoke about how complicated Schumacher's brain injury is.

"A blow to the head causes bruising, a swelling, which takes place in a confined space, the skull, which leads to pressure on the brain," said Gerard Audibert, a professor of neurosurgery at the University Hospital Centre in Nancy, eastern France.

Still,  fans and families of the legend are hoping that Schumacher will survive this test. Corina said that his husband is a fight and will never give up in trying times.
